Reverso
The reverse, designed by Canadian artist Marie-Élaine Cusson from an original watercolor painting, shows two Silvery Blue butterflies engraved and bathed in gold alongside a third three-dimensional butterfly handcrafted in Murano glass.
The butterflies appear on a composition of French marigolds and zinnias , two flowers known for attracting pollinators. The combination of engraving, relief, Murano glass, and selective gold plating creates a scene with a distinctly artistic and naturalistic approach.

Relevant data about the broadcast
Murano, in Italy, has been one of the world's most renowned glassmaking centers since 1291. Its works stand out for their intense colors, obtained by incorporating minerals and oxides into the glass during its production, without using paint.
The Royal Canadian Mint also points out that, unlike the monarch butterfly, the Silvery Blue butterfly is not dependent on a single host plant. Its larvae typically feed on plants belonging to the legume family, while the adults obtain nectar from a variety of flowers.
The combination of a half-kilogram pure silver coin , a limited run of 800 pieces , the incorporation of a handmade Murano glass butterfly, and a specially designed presentation make this issue one of the Royal Canadian Mint's most exclusive offerings for 2026.
The Murano Silvery Blue Butterfly – Half Kilo Fine Silver Coin brings together art, nature, and craftsmanship in a single piece. Its low mintage, the use of genuine Murano glass, and the meticulous attention to detail make it a highly desirable coin for those seeking to add high-end, distinctively designed issues to their collection.
