The U.S. Mint has announced the release of a commemorative 25-cent coin dedicated to astronomer Dr. Vera Rubin, as part of the American Women Quarters 2025 program. The coins will be available from June 3th, 2025 via the official website of the U.S. Mint.

Dr. Vera Rubin: Astronomy Pioneer and Equality Advocate
The coin features Dr. Rubin's profile on the reverse, gazing into the cosmos, surrounded by a spiral galaxy and other celestial bodies. The inscriptions include "DR. VERA RUBIN," "QUARTER DOLLAR," "E PLURIBUS UNUM," "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," and "DARK MATTER," highlighting her contribution to the discovery of dark matter.
The obverse features a portrait of George Washington, designed by Laura Gardin Fraser in 1931, with the inscriptions “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and “2025.”
