Banco Provincial de Santa Fe was a financial institution that operated in the province of Santa Fe, Argentina. It was founded in 1874 by a group of local businessmen led by Juan Bautista Iturraspe, with the aim of promoting the economic development of the region and providing financial services to the community.

From the beginning, the Provincial Bank of Santa Fe was intended as an alternative to the national banks that, according to its founders, were not meeting the needs of the province. Thus, the financial institution sought to support the productive sectors of the region, especially the agricultural sector, which was the main economic engine of the province in those years.

To achieve its objectives, the Provincial Bank of Santa Fe issued its own banknotes and coins, and also acted as an intermediary in the placement of provincial bonds. In this way, the financial institution became a key element in the financing of the province's productive activities.

The bank managed to establish itself as one of the main financial institutions in the region and contributed significantly to the economic development of the province. Among its most notable achievements was the issuance of legal tender banknotes that, according to experts, stood out for their quality and aesthetics.

The Banco Provincial de Santa Fe left an important legacy in the economic history of the province of Santa Fe and is remembered as a milestone in the development of regional financial institutions in Argentina. Its example was followed by other provinces that founded their own banks and, to a certain extent, it laid the groundwork for the creation of the Banco de la Nación Argentina in 1891.
